Center for Pediatric Auditory and Speech Sciences

Overview

The Center for Pediatric Auditory and Speech Sciences (CPASS) is a multi-emphasis center dedicated to translational research in the audiological and speech sciences. Our goals are to advance the practice of pediatric healthcare in speech, language, and hearing, through the application of fundamental basic science and cutting edge technology. Participating laboratories in CPASS include the Speech Research Laboratory (SRL)directed by H. Timothy Bunnell, Ph.D., the Craniofacial Outcomes Research Laboratory (CORL) under the direction of Linda Vallino, Ph.D., the Balance and Vestibular Disorders Laboratory (BVD) under the direction of Robert C. O'Reilly, M.D., and the Auditory Physiology and Psychoacoustics Research Laboratory (APPL) directed by Thierry Morlet, Ph.D. The center seeks to tightly integrate research laboratories and clinical health care programs to maximize the potential benefits of data collection for all Nemours professionals. In the local communities of Delaware and Florida, CPASS also provides outreach and educational services by participating in infant auditory screening, providing consulting and support for local educational systems, and developing strong ties to Nemours Health and Prevention Services.
